Welcome to our first post for 2025!  Sketch Saturday #767 is up this morning.  Here is today’s sketch and the twist is to use striped paper.

Sketch Saturday #767

My card today is pretty close to the sketch with some additions.

My squares are a little bigger & I added the flowers, leaves & sentiment to the top.

My background paper is “striped”, just not in the traditional sense.  There are columns with swirls inside as my stripes.

Also, I had a little help with this one.  My husband was home when I started my card & he always has a different perspective on things.

So, where I see four base panels on a solid background, he sees a patterned background with windows cut out of the top piece.

It gives the same effect with a little dimension.  So I decided to go with his vision for this card.

I hope that this inspires you to think outside the box when you start with a sketch.

Remember, you can turn it, use circles instead of squares, add dimensional items, etc.

Add your personal touch & make it yours!  Also, be sure to check out all the examples over on the Sketch Saturday #767 blog post and add your card to the link at the bottom.

Three cards will be featured on the blog as the challenge winners with a badge for you to display.

I am so happy you stopped by today.  I hope to have a couple of different blog posts up soon.

I am going to reveal my Word of the Year & I also want to talk about some new Creative Memories products that I am excited about.

All of that will be coming soon, so please check back in.

It’s cardmaking time again.  Today is Sketch Saturday #766.  This sketch is perfect for using up those paper scraps and the twist is to make a tag or use a tag on your card.

Sketch Saturday #766

I stayed true to the basic sketch but added a couple of layers on top.  My starting point was the striped paper & then I added a neutral background piece.  The wide stripe & the other two small pieces were complimentary colors of the stripes of the original piece.

I added the cake to the bottom small rectangle and the tag to the top one.

I used my cricut to write the Happy Birthday sentiment & then cut the tag.  A small piece of twine finished it off.

Sketch Saturday #766

I will admit I struggled with this one at first, but I think it turned out quite nice.  I especially like the tag element.

Now it’s your turn!  Check out all the cards from the Design Team on the Sketch Saturday #766 blog post.  Link up your creation at the bottom to play along.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please leave me a comment here or you can send questions, suggestions or requests on my Contact page.

In addition to cardmaking, I enjoy scrapbooking, making things with my cricut & pretty much anything crafty.  I would love to know what hobbies you enjoy.

Good morning!  Welcome to Sketch Saturday #765.  For today’s challenge, we were to pick from the Archive & the twist was to pick from 2014.

Sketch Saturday #765

I looked through that year & decided on Sketch #336.  I knew I wanted to make a baby card & thought the rounded edges would go with that theme well.

Sketch #336 from the 2014 Archives

Since I already had a baby card in mind, I then decided to go with a girl design.

I first picked out the patterned paper with the flowers and circles.  Then I found the background paper and additional paper strip in coordinating colors.

I found a baby stroller cut file from the Cricut library and added the brown wheels and handle.

I finished it off with the It’s a Girl pre-printed sentiment.

So there you have my take on this week’s challenge.  You can check out the other Design Team member’s ideas on the Sketch Saturday #765 post.

If you play along, be sure to link your card on the blog at the bottom of their post.

As always, if you have any questions, suggestions or comments feel free to leave them here or on the Contact page.  I would love to hear from you.

I am thankful for all of you & I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hello friends!  Today I have Sketch Saturday #764.  Wait – what?  What about Sketch #763?

Well, it seems that I missed the last sketch.  I do want to apologize for that.  Life has been busy around here & I just ran out of time.

Side note:  My grandmother used to tell me time goes faster the older you get.  As always, she was right.

Now, how about we get back on track with Sketch Saturday #764?

Sketch Saturday #764

This sketch shows a landscape orientation with a couple of layers, circle embellishments & a banner.  The twist for this week was to distress something on the card.

Card based on Sketch Saturday #764; handmade by Small Town Scrap

I made a birthday card and used the colors in the pre-printed sentiment as the basis for the circles and background.

I stayed mostly true to the sketch with the exception of adding the birthday cake image on top of the circles.

I distressed the edges of the layered red piece with a file.

So there you are; a bright happy card with a touch of rough around the edges.

I hope you head over the Sketch Saturday blog to play along with this week’s sketch.  Check out the other design team’s cards and upload yours in the link at the bottom of the page.

Today it’s time for Sketch Saturday #762.  This week’s sketch is very versatile.  There are a couple of background layers and then a block of strips with a circle embellishment.

The twist is to include some ribbon.

Sketch Saturday #762

There are so many ways to use this sketch.  Of course, you can use either one or two layers for the background.  Then the block with the strips could be a striped patterned paper or actual strips of different papers.  They could be patterns or solids.  You could also just leave it as a solid block.

Since the twist was to include ribbon, any number of the strips could be ribbon as well.

For the circle, you could use a flower, a shaped die cut or sticker.  It is also the perfect place to put your sentiment, like I did.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch with strips of patterned paper and one piece of ribbon.  I stamped my sentiment then used a stitched circle die cut and layered it on top of another printed circle die cut.

I have two background layers and then I added the enamel dots in the bottom right corner.

I hope you visit the Sketch Saturday #762 blog post to see all the other design team’s cards and to link up your interpretation of this week’s sketch.
